Who are these shoplifters and how do you keep them out of your store?
Surprisingly most shoplifters are "amateurs". There is no simple way to tell if a customer is capable of theft.
The surest way to discourage shoplifting is to have an active deterrent in place. Make it difficult to walk out
of a store without paying for merchandise, and you have helped prevent a problem before it occurs. The average
customer will not notice an EAS systems' pedestal standing at the front door, the hard tags on merchandise, or
the fact that the cashier has to scan and deactivate an item at the point of sale, but a shoplifter will. It is
called active deterrence, and it works.

Questions to Ask Your Customers
In order for us to provide the most fair and accurate quotation for your retail store(s), the answers to the follow
questions are important.
Will you be the end-user of our EAS products, or will you be reselling them?
This is important in regard to pricing. If your customer is reselling UNISEN products they must have room to mark up
the item to make a profit, yet still be competitive in the market.
How many stores will you be implementing EAS Systems in? How many entrance/exit(s) does you store(s) have that you need to protect?
Helps to formulate how many security systems will be needed. This information plus the answers to the next questions
will help figure this out.
What are the widths of these exits?
The width of the doorway that needs to be covered, plus the type of hard tags and/or labels used, will determine how
far apart the pedestals can be placed.
What types of merchandise do you sell in your store?
Do you sell soft goods, as in clothing? Estimate the number of articles of soft goods do you want to protect?
For clothing there are a variety of hard tags which are made to be used with clothing. Choose from the Universal
tag, Ovni Tag, Mini Tag, Micro Tag, or Ink Tag.
Do you sell hard goods, as in compact disks, books etc.? Estimate how many hard goods you want to protect?
UNISEN has a full line of hard tags, specialty tags and adhesive labels to secure these types of items.
The choices of hard tags are the Universal, Ovni, Mini and Micro Tag which come standard at a frequency of 8.2 Mhz.
These Tags can also be custom ordered in other frequencies.
The following are recommended uses for our specialty tags:
- Lock Tight Tag - sporting goods, wine bottles
- Eye Glass Look - eyeglasses, jewelry
- CD Case Protector - CD, cassettes, DVD
- Universal Labels - they come in 2 sizes to protect any type of small hard goods from books, CDs, household items, small bottles etc.
Do you sell both types of items and needed to use both hard tags and labels?
Keep in mind that the distance between pedestals is going to be determined by the labels if both tags and labels are used.
How many points of sale (checkout) counters does your store(s) have?
If each store has a different number of counters, then just provide the total number of counters for all stores.
This is important because hard tags are going to need detachers and labels will need deactivators. This gives you
an idea how many to order. Remember to order extra for stockroom purposes as well as back up for emergencies.

THE UNISEN ADVANTAGE "There is No Right Price for the Wrong Product"
UNISEN is one of the largest manufactures in the world today with a majority of our customers being current
or former Sensormatic, Checkpoint, Knogo, and Security Tag distributors and retailers.
Our products can be found in over 70 countries around the world. Over the past 10 years of being in the
security industry the UNISEN name has come to stand for the highest quality products, latest technology,
and competitive pricing all backed by UNISEN's 2 year warranty.
PRICING
- Always a key factor in any decision, UNISEN pricing has helped to keep our customers in business. We offer sensible, reliable, affordable solutions to shoplifting prevention. Our variety of System pedestal designs, hard tags, specialty tags, detachers, and accessories means that we have the right product at the right price.
- It is estimated that adding a RF system(s) to a stores shoplifting prevention measures will add 20% to the profit margin. Our Advance Systems pay for themselves by helping retailers from keeping their hard earned dollars from walking out the door, as well as making security affordable.
LATEST TECHNOLOGY
- All UNISEN systems are made from the latest technology available today. We were the first company to incorporate fully digital electronics and a dedicated processor chip, which allows the Systems to filter out interference from retail store environment. This help cut out the interference that causes other systems on the market to emit false alarms and/or fail to detect tags and labels. Of all the EAS companies in the market today we have the most experience with this type of technology.
- Another advantage over our competitors is the construction of the boards found in all of our System pedestals. The electrical circuits are sealed inside of removable modules that can be removed from the circuit Boards. Systems can be serviced or upgraded to already install systems simply and easily, with a technician spending very little time on the sales floor.
- UNISEN systems are FCC and CE approved. They have a proven track record in a diverse range of environments and countries. Our quality and technology is above the industry standard and the reason why so many other names have come and gone in the EAS business, while the market for UNISEN products keeps growing around the world.
- Due to this advanced technology of UNISEN systems, they are reliable and there is very little need for service. Once a system is properly installed it is self-tuning.

TIPS FROM UNISEN
In some occasions, grounding the receiver board to the receiver pedestal can help reduce noise. Some times not doing
this reduces noise so please try both. Use ferrite rings cores to filter noise (Philips No.4322-020-97070). Take the
co-axial cable where it connects to the TX board and wind the cable 1 0 times through the ferrite ring core. This
should be done at both sides of the co-axial cable if the installation consists of the normal transmitter and only
ONE slave transmitter. If the Central transmitting unit is used, only use the ferrite ring core at the side of
every slave transmitter.
Be sure to ALWAYS use the length of the longest transmitter slave cable for all the other transmitter
this will ensure that all transmitters are in phase (see page 1 1 from the installation manual). You must never
for example use 5 meters of cable to one transmitter antenna and 3 meters to another. If this is the case you
5 for both antennas.
Always use a separate power supply for the central transmitting unit. The transmitting unit is not a transmitting
pedestal it is just a central transmitting unit to give the oscillating signal to all slaved transmitting pedestals.
You should always try to place in the middle of all the slave pedestals to use less co-axial cable.
Never connect more than 3 antennas to one power supply. Try to keep power cables from the power supplies and master
co-axial cables as short as possible. Try to run the master co-axial cable separately than the power cables. Make sure
the back of the PC board on the transmitter and receiver pedestals are not touching any metal part of the frame.
